Harvest House is a food ministry of Nichols Street Church of Christ.
Harvest House was organized in 1993 to meet the food needs of the underprivileged population of Bay City and Matagorda County.
Now, in its fifteenth year, the ministry distributes supplies to approximately 300 families a week.
Their staff consists of about 35 volunteers.
They don't have paid employees.
They do their best to treat our customers with dignity and respect, and to offer them hope and encouragement while helping with their food needs.
They also offer spiritual help, but they do not discriminate on the basis of gender, color, race, age, disability, religion, national origin, or political faith. They simply try to reach human beings who need it.
They are a member of the Food Bank of Golden Crescent in Victoria, Texas, and from there. They get about 90% of the food they distribute.
They meet or exceed all food bank standards, and are subject to an annual inspection to ensure compliance.
They comply with the Texas Department of Human Service's requirement for civil rights for special nutrition programs and provide annual training for their volunteers.
