The Household of Faith Charities was established on November 22, 2013. Their mission is to nurture a healthier, stronger and more engaged local community and global village.
Their vision is to empower all people through their food pantry programs, healthy benefits programs, workforce development training, civic outreach initiatives, as well as their entrepreneurship and leadership development seminars.
They are passionate about being change agents in their city and they want to accomplish this by loving people, helping others and serving their community.
For example, they started their food pantry with a pickup truck and serve over 60 families on the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month.
They served 190 families per week in the first year, and over 6,000 people in October 2014.
Since then, Household of Faith charities have expanded to serve 13 Dallas counties with free food to about 10 pounds per person.
In year 2016, They were able to supply more than 23,000 people with breads, dairy products, protein, fresh produce, fruit and non-perishable products.
They challenged their selves to be very deliberate and strategic in 2017.
One of the main shortcomings they have identified is that transportation can prevent them from reaching our facilities.
Since August, They have been working with local authorities to identify apartment complexes and housing estates that may require additional food assistance and have begun pilot deliveries directly to apartment complexes.
They hope to expand this program and work with local businesses to help them meet their needs.
They delivery to the community is on Friday night, when families can go home from work.
