COMPA Ministries
Denver, CO - 80207
(303) 294-0272
Originally founded in 1981, COMPA Ministries has evolved into an innovative outreach program working to break the cycle of poverty and homelessness by helping individuals reach a given level of self-sufficiency. In addition to acquiring and distributing food, the organization is opening a canning facility and vacu-seal operation in summer 2009 and has developed the unique Internet-based Farm Market program to track and distribute perishable food items on a daily basis to hunger-relief agencies. COMPA has also pioneered a community harvest program called Project Glean which uses volunteers to harvest fresh produce from local farms. COMPA has nearly 5,000 volunteers help it harvest, sort and distribute food to meet community needs.
