Working with the USDA, CAFB distributes food each month through their Temporary Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) directly to eligible individuals and families in Arlington, Langley Park and Northeast D.C. communities. Senior citizens residing in low-income housing can receive monthly bags of food at 34 locations throughout CAFB's service area. For additional information please email brownbag@capitalareafoodbank.org
Children receiving free or reduced breakfast and lunch during the week at school can take home bags of nutritious, kid-friendly food for the weekend. Bags are packed by volunteers and delivered by Capital Area Food Bank trucks for distribution every week from community-based sites for participating children to take home.
